You should allow yourself at least 1 hour for this appointment.

You are not required to remove your contacts prior to this appointment; although, we will be able to give you more accurate information if you have been out of your soft contacts for 7 days and your ridged gas permeable or RGP’s for at least 2 weeks.

One of our LASIK coordinators will greet you for this appointment and perform several tests to assist Dr. Moran in determining your candidacy for a refractive surgery procedure.

We will read the prescription from your glasses and perform a mapping of your cornea referred to as a topography. We will then perform a wavescan to evaluate your level of aberrations and a pachymetry reading to measure your corneal thickness.

All of these tests are painless and non-invasive.

We will then ask a series of questions, such as what your occupation is, what are your hobbies? This will help determine what your visual needs are and assist you in setting a visual goal post operatively.

We will discuss what risks and benefits you may encounter with your LASIK procedure.

Additionally, we will review fees and financing options that are available to you, and answer any other questions you may have.
