Corneal Pachymetry

Corneal pachymetry measures the thickness of the cornea.  The cornea is the clear, dome shaped portion at the front of your eye.  The thickness of your cornea is important in LASIK surgery to ensure you are a proper candidate and have enough thickness to avoid possible complications.  Pachymetry is also important in the early detection of glaucoma.  Pachymetry readings will enhance and aid your doctor in the diagnosis of glaucoma.
