A Scan and B Scan Ultrasound

Ultrasonic measurements are images of the eye.  A-Scan ultrasound is typically used for measurements in calculations for IOL (Intraocular Lens Implants) used in cataract surgery.  The Lehigh Valley Center for Sight also uses the Zeiss IOL Master which uses non-contact optical biometry for accuracy in IOL calcuations.

All of our offices have a contact B-Scan ultrasound unit, which is used to visualize the back of the eye to help diagnosising and treating retinal hemmorhages, retinal detachments, ocular tumors, and other eye diseases.
